Updating SAS License

You will know when you need to renew the SAS license because an error message will appear stating the license is out of date. In order to renew the license, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to this website: https://software.ncsu.edu/campus/sas/.
    Note: You will need to log in with your Unity ID and password.
  2. Under “3. License Files” find the license for your version of SAS. Right click and save it to the desktop.
  3. Go to the Start menu, and click on SAS.
  4. Under SAS, click on Utilities, and open Renew SAS software.
  5. The User Account Control window will appear. Enter the required information.
    Note: You need Admin rights for this step. 
  6. Click on Browse and select the downloaded license file.
  7. Click OK, then click Renew.
  8. You should receive confirmation that the license update was successful. Open SAS to confirm that the changes were applied.
