There will be a scheduled power outage from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Friday morning. To prepare for the outage, we will shut down some systems starting Thursday night and Friday morning.
Starting Thursday afternoon:
- All TV-connected digital display machines will be powered off and unplugged (Billboards and CMS).
- The 2351 Eos computer lab will be closed and locked from 12:00 p.m. on Thursday through 10:00 a.m. on Friday so we can power down and unplug equipment. ITECS staff will still have keycard access if needed.
- Classtech team members will power off technology in their supported spaces, including classrooms and conference rooms.
- Service Desk team members may not be available for walk-ins to 3314 after 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, 3/14. However, our team members in our neighboring Engineering Building 1 office will monitor new requests and respond to urgent needs and tickets.
- If the power outage goes well and is available at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, our team will then power on all of our supported equipment.
- Additional team members will be on-site to respond if there are any unexpected complications.
Friday early morning:
- Just before 6 a.m., the hardware license essential appliance (DigiHub) will be shut down. If software uses this service, users may experience issues with their applications. We anticipate restoring service immediately after the outage ends at 8 a.m.
