Foxit license change during week of August 12

The Office of Information Technology (OIT), which manages the license for Foxit software, will be moving to a new management portal this week. They will be creating new accounts for all current Foxit users, and then deleting the old accounts later in the week.

This new system will provide better administrative & troubleshooting tools, and will also allow three activations per user instead of one.

Foxit account holders will receive two emails this week: the first will require action, and the second can be ignored:

On Tuesday, August 13th, 2024, all current Foxit account holders will receive an email from Foxit Software with the subject line, “Mark Harben has invited you to join your team to use Foxit products.” (The email was planned to go out on August 12, but most people received it on August 13.)

This email is legitimate and will require recipients to click the “Click here to join now!” link within 72 hours of receiving the email. You can ignore the rest of the email as it is a generic Foxit email and does not apply to NCSU.

You can find a brief video (~2 min) demonstrating the process here: 2024 Foxit License Change
The email will look like this:

After clicking the link, you should see this:

On Thursday, August 15, 2024, account holders will receive a second email from Foxit Software with the subject line, “The admin of organization (NC2022) has removed you from the org”.  They can safely ignore this email, as it refers to removal from the old portal.

That email will look like this:

If you encounter any issues with the process, please check the OIT Foxit FAQ or contact your local IT group for assistance.

Thank you for your patience!
