General Notes

As of January 2024, CSI has changed the licensing method for SAP2000 for instructional use:
- Previously, they offered a free SAP2000 Student Demo with limited functionality to institutions that purchase SAP2000 Ultimate for research purposes. This Student Demo was the version available on this page through version 23.
- Under the new licensing method, they offer the fully functional SAP2000 Ultimate for instruction, at a cost.
- For the Spring 2024 semester, CSI has generously given NC State complimentary licenses to use. These licenses expire on 01 June 2024.
The new licensing method requires that students create a CSI account to use the software.
Students enrolled in the following courses for the Spring 2024 semester have been sent an invitation email to create their accounts:

CE 325, section 001
CE 527, section 001
CE 527, section 601

User Agreement

SAP2000 Ultimate (for instructional use) is made available to you through the College of Engineering's SAP2000 Ultimate (for instructional use) license. The NC State College of Engineering is ordering the right for you to use SAP2000 Ultimate (for instructional use) for academic-related purposes. Installation of this software on a computer owned by a business other than NC State University is strictly prohibited. You are authorized to use SAP2000 Ultimate (for instructional use) while you are enrolled in, or employed by, NC State. Your acceptance of this agreement indicates that you understand and will comply with the requirements of the SAP2000 Ultimate (for instructional use) license: I will not give this download to anyone else nor install it on anyone else's computer for them. I understand that redistribution of this software is strictly prohibited and is a violation of the terms and conditions of the license agreement and the NC State University Computing Policy. I understand that I am licensed to use this software for academic coursework and teaching only, and will not use this software for commercial purposes. I will discontinue use of SAP2000 Ultimate (for instructional use), and will uninstall the software, when I leave NC State.
