Computer Labs
All computer labs are closed during fall and spring break, and anytime the University is closed.
Main Engineering Computer Labs
All of the Main Engineering Computer Labs follow the building open/close schedule. All workstations have Solidworks, Matlab, Ansys, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Origin, Python and more installed. All of them have a FollowMe printer and the lab in Fitts-Woolard Hall has two large-format printers. The laptop stations have a monitor, keyboard and mouse. There are charging towers throughout all our labs.

About the Labs
Collaboration Spaces
Engineering has set aside specially configured spaces within a lab where engineering students, faculty and staff can meet to work on projects together. Designed with technology to support collaborative work and interaction, these learning spaces typically have one or two engineering workstations connected to a large monitor, with network connections for individual laptops. Collaboration spaces follow the same schedule as the regular labs in their building. In addition to the ones within the labs, there is a private collaboration space in 111 Lampe Drive 228. This space has its own calendar and must be reserved.
Lab Rules
NC State University has a set of policies, rules and regulations focused on information technology. Lab users are expected to be familiar with and abide by them. Violations will be treated as academic misconduct, misdemeanor or felony as appropriate. In addition, by entering our computer labs, users acknowledge and consent to the following standards of courtesy.
- Food, drink and smokeless tobacco products are not permitted.
- Keep the labs conducive to work and study by treating them as quiet zones–keep your voice low and your devices silenced. Headphones must be used when listening to audio content, and the sound should not be loud enough to be heard by those around you.
- Do not unplug power cords for any equipment in order to charge your personal devices.
- Safeguard the equipment–yours and the labs.
- Keep your belongings organized and confined to your study area.
- Do not attempt to move, repair, reconfigure or modify any of the lab computers.
- Do not attach devices other than headphones, USB storage devices and accessibility equipment to the lab computers.
- Report any issues to the Engineering IT Service Desk by calling 515-2458 or by sending an email to eoshelp@ncsu.edu.
