Origin Licensing Issues

After installing Origin, some users report having to input the flex servers and TCP/IP port in order for the license to work.

This problem occurs when the user does not install the program as an administrator. There are two possible fixes for this issue.

  1. Input the Origin flex server info. The license information dialog box should open when you launch Origin. Input the following information:
    • FLEXlm Server: origin.eos.ncsu.edu
    • TCP/IP port: 63488

  1. Uninstall the program and then reinstall the program with administrative privileges. To do this, right-click the installer and select Run as Administrator.
