Computers Supported by ITECS Through Partnerships

ITECS Service Desk supports a number of computers through a partnership with other departments that are part of Engineering and outside of Engineering.

Wise Computers

  • Location: Lee Hall
  • OU: COEDEAN>Staff>WISE and COEDEAN>Private Labs>Wise
  • Contact Person: Dr. Kathy Titus-Becker
  • These computers are purchased by WISE. ITECS’s partnership is with Academic Affairs Dean’s Office and College of Science.

 

UNC-Asheville

  • Part of NCSU Engineering Online
  • Support person: Jeremy Brown
  • NCSU Engineering Online Contact Person: Dr. Linda Krute
  • Most of their requests are for software. Contact ITECS Software License Service Now queue.

 

Havelock Computers at Craven Community College

  • Part of NCSU Engineering Online
  • OU: COEDEAN.Public Labs>MES LAB-CCC.
  • Contact People: Dr. Bill Fortney and Ali Nejad
  • There are 6 computers with the EOS Lab image on them. They plan to grow the number of computers. NCSU ComTech and Craven Community College are working on a VPN connection that will allow remote access to these computers.

 

UNC-Wilmington

  • Part of NCSU Engineering Online
  • Contact Person: Dr. Amy Reamer
  • Support is usually done by UNC-W IT staff. Dr. Reamer will reach out to the ITECS Service Desk when software is needed or a stand-alone laptop needs to be installed with Engineering Software.

 

Engineering Village Computers

  • Location: Sullivan Hall
  • OU: COEDEAN.Public Labs>Engr-Village
  • Contact Person: Niko Brown
  • ITECS supports 4 computers that were purchased through Academic Affairs – Dean’s Office.

 

D.H. Hill and Hunt Libraries

  • ITECS owns 9 computers located in the 9th Floor Stacks in D.H. Hill Library. See this article for details: https://it.engr.ncsu.edu/help/kb/itecs-owned-computers-in-d-h-hill-library/
  • ITECS Service Desk has a partnership will the NCSU Libraries to install the EOS lab image on computers that the NCSU libraries designate and what OS (Windows/Linux). Hardware issues should be reported to the NCSU Libraries staff through Service Now.
